Gain an insight into the world of mining in Australia with an underground tour of the Hard Times Mine in Outback Mount Isa in Queensland. There is no better way to understand the trials and tribulations of miners than on a guided tour with former and current miners. Listen to the fascinating stories of the good and hard times deep under the earth plus see how tunnels are formed and shaped below the surface.

The Hard Mines Underground tour in Mount Isa also gives participants the opportunity to get up close to machinery and try their hand at the air-leg drill under expert guidance. The underground mine tour is recommended for all people 7 years and above and each person will be provided with safety equipment including overalls, hard hats and gumboots.

A pair of socks
Light clothing is highly recommended (preferably shorts and a t-shirt as skirts and dresses are not recommended under overalls)

A ‘Waiver of Liability’ must be signed by all participants.
No cameras are permitted to be taken underground
A minimum of 3 people on each tour is required for the tour to operate
The minimum age for children is seven (7) years of age

Cancellation Policy

Amendments or cancellations made less than seven (7) days prior to arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee
