Wake up with Adelaide Zoo’s most iconic animals.
Step into the zoo before the crowds and discover a morning like no other. Panda & Friends is an intimate, morning journey through Adelaide Zoo’s most serene sanctuary, the Bamboo Forest, where awe-inspiring encounters await. Designed to connect you deeply with nature and the species we strive to protect, this experience offers a rare chance to see some of our most iconic animals in their quietest moments.
Start your adventure by watching the playful Red Panda, Ravi, enjoy his breakfast high in the treetops—a peaceful moment that feels worlds away from the everyday. Then, enjoy a private viewing of Australia’s only Giant Pandas, Yi Lan and Xing Qiu, as they bring in the new day to explore and play around their habitat. This playful pair are ambassadors for their species, and seeing them up close in the early morning calm is a rare privilege.
At a peaceful point during your experience, you’ll enjoy morning tea at the Wisteria Café. Enjoy the chance to relax and take in the surroundings before or after your guided walk through the rest of the zoo. Along the way, you’ll meet more remarkable species from around the globe and discover the vital conservation work you’re helping to support just by being here.

Time
- This experience starts at 8:30am Thursday to Sunday
- Please allow 2.5 hours for this tour
- Adelaide Zoo is open daily from 9.30am to 5pm, including Christmas Day
- Please note that bookings must be made at least 24hrs in advance for this experience
Location
- Participants check in at Adelaide Zoo Front Entrance, Plane Tree Drive, Adelaide, SA 5000, 15 minutes prior to experience start time.

- Maximum of 25 participants per tour
- This experience is Wheelchair accessible.
- You are required to wear enclosed footwear
- Minimum age is 6 years old
- Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a paying/supervising adult during entry and at all times whilst inside the zoo grounds
- Tickets are non-refundable
- Changes to your booking may be considered 48 hours prior to your booked experience
- For the safety and well-being of all participants, experiences may be cancelled due to heat or extreme weather conditions. In the event Zoos South Australia has to cancel an animal experience, you will be contacted to reschedule the experience. Refunds will be issued on a case by case basis only
